SEGA have decided to jump on the Labubu craze by releasing their own line of plush dolls based on characters from their own franchises. These new dolls are called SEGA Labbies and are due to be released at SEGA Store Tokyo and SEGA Store Shanghai on the 19th of December 2025. Of course there’s a Sonic one, but more interestingly there’s a Kiryu Kazuma doll, and also a Joker from Persona 5 doll. This suggests they’re marketing to a wider market than just children.
SEGA have collaborated with Dwarf Studios who have animated this adorable stop-motion trailer to showcase the SEGA Labbies. Check it out:
SEGA Labbies will only be available to purchase from SEGA Store Tokyo and SEGA Store Shanghai from the 19th of December 2025. There is currently no word on if these will receive a wider release after that.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has received a brand new trailer at the Summer Games Fest and with it comes the announcement of guest characters.
The 3 SEGA-centric guests are Hatsune Miku from the Project Diva series, Ichiban Kasuga from the Yakuza series, and Joker from Persona 5. You can check them all out in the new trailer below:
Curiously, a Minecraft crossover has also been revealed. This includes multiple blocky Minecraft characters and a Minecraft-themed track. It is unclear if this Minecraft content will be included at launch as the trailer promises it is, “drifting across dimensions soon”.
Takashi Iizuka also appeared on stage and revealed the game will have online multiplayer with crossplay between all platforms, which is a pretty astounding achievement considering the game is releasing on 7 different systems.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on September 25th 2025. The Limited Run Collector’s Edition will be coming much later with an ETA of March 2026.
A new strategy spin-off to Persona 5 is coming exclusively to Microsoft platforms in the form of Persona 5 Tactica. This new entry in the series takes the form of a turn-based strategy game in a similar guise as Final Fantasy Tactics or XCOM: Enemy Unknown. You can see the first in-game action via the trailer below:
Persona 5 Tactica will launch on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the Microsoft Game Pass service on November 17th 2023.
As part of Gamescom 2021’s Opening Night Live presentation, it’s been announced that Morgana from Persona 5 will be a DLC character in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. He’ll cost $4.99 USD on release.
Banana Mania is quickly and somewhat unexpectedly becoming a big ol’ SEGA crossover, with Jet Set Radio’s Beat, Yakuza’s Kiryu, and Sonic & Tails previously being announced. This new reveal adds Atlus into the mix, too!
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania launches on October 1st.
