Sonic the Hedgehog Remastered is apparently going to release later this month for Android and iOS at the North American price of $2.99. No UK pricing has been announced at this time but we have our first taste of gameplay from the game below. Check out that beautiful widescreen action:
Sonic the Hedgehog Remastered is being ported by Christian Whitehead (who previously ported Sonic CD) and Stealth, a coder from Sonic Retro.
Free-to-play iOS and Android MMORPG Kingdom Conquest II is hosting an Easter event. Players can raise their own easter bunny monster and receive special prizes. Full details can be found here.
The event runs from 28/3/2013 until 4/4/2013.
Don’t forget SEGA host a heap of helpful guides for Kingdom Conquest II which you can find by clicking here.
A few more details regarding the release of Sonic the Hedgehog Remastered: iOS users who purchased the previously available version of Sonic the Hedgehog will receive the remastered version in an update.
Also, the soundtrack is completely remastered in order to give players the highest quality version of the soundtrack possible. Christian “Taxman” Whitehead has said, “The arrangements are identical to the originals, using FM synthesis. But they have been put together in a DAW environment and given an actual mix as opposed to simply recording the existing music. The Drum samples are sourced from the original synthesiser so they’re super clean and crisp too.”
The Game Developers’ Conference has brought with it some great news for SEGA fans who use Android and iOS.
A new version of Sonic the Hedgehog will be released with widescreen support, solid 60fps gameplay and a new time attack mode brought to you by Christian Whitehead, the man behind the recent Sonic CD port.
No release date has been announced yet but a North American price-point of $2.99 has been confirmed. Rumours are also circulating that Sonic 2 will also be ported in this way.
Also announced are Puzzle Pirates which appears to be a pirate-themed MMO and House of the Dead Overkill: The Lost Files which appears to be a tailor-made for mobile gaming take of the Overkill formula.
Ed Annunziata, project lead and creator of Ecco the Dolphin is seeking funding to create a spritual successor to the series called The Big Blue.
The Big Blue will allow you to take control of a variety of sea-life in a futuristic setting keeping with the theme of Ecco. Spencer Nilsen will return to provide the soundtrack with assistance from Bear McCreary who is responsible for the soundtracks to Walking Dead and Battlestar Galactica.
The team are asking for $665,000 and as a further stretch goal the team will add multiplayer and cooperative play if the project exceeds its’ target by 50%. If the project doubles its’ goal then the team are also planning to turn the game into an MMO for play on consoles, PCs and mobile gaming devices.
Sonic Dash is now available on the iOS app store and to celebrate SEGA have uploaded a launch trailer that shows exactly what to expect from the £1.49 title:
