An expanded edition of Valkyria Chronicles III is making its’ way to PSP. According to Andriasang, the Extra Edition brings ““three new episodes. Sega is also packing in some of the original’s download content, including two popular download missions and the content that was distributed to pre-orderers and mobile fan club members.”
SEGA have released a new iOS game. It’s called Samurai Blood Show and tower defence title with card-based elements of play.
Destructoid describes it in further detail: “The game blends card-based combat with tower-defense gameplay for some interesting results. Infantry cards possess their own strengths and weaknesses, and different offensive and defensive abilities. Moreover, different infantry types have varying movement options. You’ll be able to reposition your infantry during battle at the cost of gold. This not only adds a lot more flexibility to your strategies, but makes the game feel like a more fast-paced version of chess….Visually, the game is quite a looker. Using ancient Japanese art scrolls as inspiration, the look of the classic emaki paintings are accurately replicated and make the game look as if you are watching a painting come to life.”
The game is available now but is NOT available in English. This game is only in Japanese despite being released worldwide.
SEGA will be showing the following games at the Tokyo Game Show:
Binary Domain (PS3/360)
Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure (3DS)
Hatsune Miku Project Diva Extend (PSP)
Phantasy Star Online 2 (PC)
7th Dragon 2020 (PSP)
Anarchy Reigns (PS3/360)
Sonic Generations (PS3/3DS)
Phantasy Star Online 2 (PC)
Yakuza: Black Panther 2 (PSP)
So that’s another 2 games announced! A new 7th Dragon game is coming to PSP (the original was released on DS and was Japan-only) and ANOTHER Hatsune Miku game is making its’ way to PSP.
SEGA have just revealed a new iOS title called Brick People. The game originated as a Japan exclusive arcade game and has now been ported to iOS devices.
The game was originally played with a set of actual bricks that you placed in front of the video screen. The concept is still the same except you now use a set of virtual bricks that you manouvre with the touch-screen.
Full details from the press release:
•Tactile Gameplay: Build towers and bridges for the Brick People by pulling bricks from the stack and dropping them into place, using the iOS’ multi-touch interface
•Build with a Buddy: Compete head-to-head via Wi-Fi to out-build your friends, or compete on a single device in the iPad version
•See How You Stack Up: Build your Brick People reputation by going for high scores on the Game Center leaderboards, and tweet your tallest towers
A release date has not been revealed at this time.
Black Leopard: New Yakuza Chapter 2 is due for release in Spring 2012 for PSP. Both games are Japan only with no word on a Western release at this time.
The Treasure developed shoot-em-up Radiant Silvergun that was originally released on the SEGA Saturn will be released on the X-Box Live Arcade September 14th 2011. It will cost 1200 points and it is NOT being published by SEGA.
This will be the first time the game has made it to the West and is easily the most affordable way to play it next to importing a Japanese Saturn copy for well over £80 (yikes!).
SEGA has announced it will forming a new Yakuza Studio that will be lead by Toshihiro Nagoshi. While its’ first game will be Binary Domain, they are also responsible for the development of 2 new Yakuza titles.
“What are these two new Yakuza titles?” I hear you ask. Well it’s none other than Yakuza 5 and a sequel to Black Leopard: New Yakuza Chapter; the PSP spin-off that debuted last year.
Yakuza 5 is reported to be in its’ early stages of development, but Black Leopard: New Yakuza Chapter 2 is already confirmed for a Spring 2012 release in Japan.
