Hackers Discover F-Zero AX Hidden in F-Zero GX

Developed by SEGA’s Amusement Vision team, F-Zero GX was released in 2003 for the Gamecube under the supervision of Nintendo. The game was developed side-by-side with the rare arcade game F-Zero AX which includes exclusive tracks and a focus on timed gameplay. The arcade version was developed on the Triforce board which was jointly developed by Nintendo, SEGA and Namco.

In a bizarre turn of events, hackers have discovered that the complete version of F-Zero AX is hidden deep within F-Zero GX and is now accessible via action replay codes which you can get below. You can also see the game in action via the following video:

Video Spotlight: Sonic Dash Launch Trailer

Sonic Dash is now available on the iOS app store and to celebrate SEGA have uploaded a launch trailer that shows exactly what to expect from the £1.49 title:

In other news, Android users will be happy to learn that the game will be coming to Android devices as well. No release date is available at this time.

RetroN Console Allows You to Play Mega Drive Games (and More) Through HDMI

How’s this for left-field? The recently announced RetroN 4 console is a hybrid console that allows you to play NES, SNES, Mega Drive and Gameboy Advance cartridges on one system. The console is also equipped with a HDMI output and supports both NTSC and PAL cartridges.

The console’s developer Hyperkin is expected to make a full announcement on March 23rd at the Midwest Gaming Classic trade show in Wisconsin.

The developer’s previous console (the RetroN 3) is pictured above and already available. This console allows you to play NES, SNES and Mega Drive cartridges, but only offers S-video or composite video output.

Sonic Dash Available Tonight, Gameplay Trailer Released

Sonic Dash will launch on the iOS app store tonight at 12am. The game will be priced £1.49 for the UK and $1.99 for North America.

Tails Adventure Rated for Virtual Console Re-Release

Underrated action-platformer Tails Adventure has been rated by the Australian classification board for re-release on 3DS.

Tails Adventure was originally released on the Game Gear in 1995 and is a slower-paced adventure that is reminiscent of early Castlevania games.

Brazilian Ratings Board Reveals Castle of Illusion Maybe Heading to PS3/360/Vita/Wii-U

NeoGAF user CrunchinJelly has spotted a listing by the Brazilian ratings board that lists Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse as an upcoming title for PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii-U. We assume this title will be re-released digitally.

Castle of Illusion was originally released for Mega Drive in 1990 and is highly regarded as one of the best Mickey games ever made.

No release date is set at this time. More on this as we get it.

Sonic Dash Revealed to be a Temple Run-Style Game

It has been revealed that the gameplay of recently announced iOS game Sonic Dash will be similar to that of endless running game Temple Run.

SEGA have specifically stated that Sonic will be “making a fast and frenzied 3D dash through stunning stages, as he navigates over, around, and through interminable dangers”. Also included is online leaderboards.

Sonic Dash will be available for iPod, iPhone and iPad devices “soon”.

The Conduit HD Announced for Android Devices

Remember back in January when we reported on The Conduit being ported to Nvidia’s new Project Shield device? Well the game has finally got an official announcement as The Conduit HD and will be available for all Tegrazone supported Android devices.

The game launches on March 14th and the first 2 missions will be a free download. Also added is the option to purchase the remaining 6 levels in packs 2 for $2.99 or you can grab the lot at the special bundle priced of $4.99. There are no UK price listings at this time.

It also appears that High Voltage Software will be self-publishing the game this time and SEGA have no involvement in this HD re-release.
