Ever wanted to shunt baddies off the road in an invincible death-mobile and watch them explode like in the films? Well Road Avenger is the game for you!
I’ve just uploaded a complete review of the Mega CD FMV-fest and you can read it by clicking this link. There’s a lot of FMV games on the Mega CD; is this one to hit or miss?
Helen’s at it again with a review of Sonic’s only foray into RPG-Land; Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for Nintendo DS. You can access her review by clicking this link.
Again, Helen takes an interesting approach by reviewing this with no prior Bioware knowledge and judges the game on its’ own merits. It also takes a more observational stance.
The lovely Helen Doherty has reviewed the X-Box 360 version of SEGA Superstars Tennis for SEGADriven. You can access the review by clicking this link.
Helen takes an interesting, retrospective approach with this review by comparing the game to Sumo Digital’s more recent Superstars entry, ‘Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing’. She also takes into account that the game can now be purchased for a very low, second-hand price (£3 from CEX!? Get involved!).
4 years ago, BlazeHedgehog (infamous for his fan-game ‘Sonic: The Fated Hour’) was developing a 2D remake of Sonic the Hedgehog 06.
Why remake one of the worst Sonic games of all time? Blaze explains that he was disappointed by the game’s release as all the pre-release hype promised “a High-Def, Next-Generation return to the good parts of the original Sonic Adventure” which was obviously appealing to most Sonic fans at the time.
Unfortunately, all hope for the project was lost when Blaze encountered computer problems which meant he hasn’t been able to access the source material for 4 years.
Earlier this year Blaze finally managed to gain access to the source material and has to decided to polish up the game and release it as is (approximately 85% complete) as he doesn’t have the time to finish it completely.
Check out the below trailer to see what the final release includes:
Here we have 2 doses of new Anarchy Reigns gameplay footage to show off. First off we have Jack’s character trailer:
I’m really hoping the inclusion of Jack from MadWorld is an indication that we might see more SEGA cameos in Anarchy Reigns. How about Axel from Streets of Rage, eh Platinum?
Finally we have a whole heap of gameplay in the first trailer focussing on the entire game and not specific characters. Check it out:
I’d recommend anyone with an interest in puzzle games to try out Wind and Water. Think Hexic (the puzzle game included on all X-Box 360s) with a story that parodies all your favourite games from yester-year. There’s also a plethora of different SEGA cameos with some fantastic remixes of classic SEGA tunes.
So what are you waiting for? Give Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles a try; you won’t regret it!
A demo of Yakuza 4 is to be released for PlayStation Plus memberss on February 16th and then rolled out to all PlayStation Network users from February 23rd. The demo will allow you to get to grips with each of the 4 playable characters in the game which is due out 25th of March.
There’s also a new trailer featuring some of the hostesses you will meet in the game. Hostesses were previously removed from the Western release of Yakuza 3 due to ‘time restraints’ so take a look at the below trailer to see what we were missing:
More gameplay footage of Platinum Games’ new brawler, ‘Anarchy Reigns’! This time we’re introduced to Zero who looks remarkably like a beefed up version of Hotsuma from the 2002 Shinobi PS2 game:
