Awesome merchandise alert! The Japanese clothing store ‘Hardcore Chocolate’ are selling Shenmue and Fighting Vipers t-shirts.
You can see the Shenmue shirt by clicking here and the Fighting Vipers shirt by clicking here. Check out those back prints!
Both shirts are selling for 3800 yen (around £22.60 in sterling) but without a knowledge of Japanese you might have a hard time navigating the webstore.
Chinese-developed arcade racer Storm Racer G will be making a UK appearance at the EAG Expo next week. The game is being developed by Wahlap with SEGA Amusements publishing and it looks pretty old school in its appearance and gameplay. The crashes are of the Outrun 2 variety (launching you into the air dramatically) and the graphics look a bit Dreamcasty.
Japan are getting a second wave of 3DS SEGA classics! The first in the series will be After Burner II which launches December 18th, but obviously only for Japan at this time.
From what I can gather from the official website the new version adds:
– Gyro controls
– Stereoscopic 3D visuals
– A stage select
– A music player which can be used in game
The other interesting thing is that this port is based on the arcade version and not the Mega Drive version.
The 3D remakes of Super Hang-On and Space Harrier (imaginatively titled 3D Super Hang-On and 3D Space Harrier) have finally made their way onto the 3DS eShop. Both games are priced at £4.49/€4.99 each so if you have a yearning for some SEGA arcade action on the go then now’s your opportunity!
Next week, 3D Sonic the Hedgehog and 3D Altered Beast will appear on the eShop so keep those eyes peeled!
One of SEGA’s latest arcade endeavors is the on-rails shooter Transformers: Human Alliance which was directed by Mr. Oga-Shi who is also responsible for such light-gun classics as Gunblade, Jurassic Park: The Lost World and Let’s Go Jungle & Island.
That last part is important because like those games there’s an awful lot of campy humour present in Transformers: Human Alliance as with the aforementioned games. Check out the new trailer to see what I’m on about:
The first gameplay footage of SEGA Amusement’s Transformers Human Alliance has gone live and I’ll be damned; it looks like awesome-SEGA-arcade-light-gun-fun-times. What’s interesting is it reminds us of SEGA arcade classics Gunblade and LA Machineguns and it even includes that brilliantly cheesy dialogue that SEGA are so famous for (see games like House of the Dead for instance). Check out the trailer below:
Heart of Gaming is a pretty recent addition to the arcade landscape. The arcade opened in North Acton this year in April and has built up a bit of a reputation as London’s premiere arcade. Myself and SonicMark paid HoG a visit and we made this little video to showcase what was available to play. Check it out:
Another update has gone live to Project Diva Arcade machines! The new update features an additional 2 songs which come in the form of Absolunote by Lemm and 深海少女」 by ゆうゆさん which features on the soundtrack to Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai for 3DS.
SEGA Japan have revealed a new arcade rhythm game called MaiMai Green. A new teaser trailer hints at the sort of music that will be playable on the machine:
