Fan Scene: Sonic Nebulous Version 5 Released

Tuesday, September 1st, 2015

fanscene

Qwerty919 has released a new version of his SatAM-inspired Sonic fangame, Sonic Nebulous 2.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game and it’s predecessor then Sonic Nebulous takes visual and atmospheric cues from the Sonic the Hedgehogs SatAM cartoon meaning its tone is much darker that many traditional Sonic fangames. The game offers a huge variety of characters to play as and a considerable effort has been made to make them all feel more unique than they did in the original Sonic Nebulous.

You can check out a new gameplay trailer below and download the new version of the game by clicking here:

Hez has released some new gameplay footage of Sonic Classic 2 which features a playable Fang the Sniper/Nack the Weasel. It’s a cool little video that showcases the character’s Yoshi-esque moveset:

Sonic the Hedgehog Classic is still available to download and play on PC via this link. The original is a bit of a rarity among Sonic fan games as it’s actually a complete game and a damn good one at that.

Fan Scene: Sonic CD Mods Adds Metal Sonic as Playable Character

Saturday, November 1st, 2014

fanscene

A fan called Darkon360 has created the first mod for Sonic CD Remastered.

This mod makes Metal Sonic completely playable in the game. It’s a fun little addition that takes the place of Sonic as the main playable character. There’s an interesting addition in the Stardust Speedway boss stage in that Darkon360 has added Metal Sonic 3.0 from Sonic Rivals 2 as the new rival for Metal Sonic. This was obviously done to avoid having Metal Sonic race himself, but it’s a fun little touch all the same.

Check out a gameplay trailer below:

You can download the mod via this link. Instructions on how to install it are also available from this page.

Fan Scene: What if the Sonic Series was a Magical Girl Anime?

Saturday, November 16th, 2013

Bet you weren’t expecting that headline? Well that’s what you’re getting!

Some talented animator on YouTube under the name of “sasi sage” has created a series of fan animations that revolve around Sonic the Hedgehog characters appearing in a magical girl anime called “Suite Sonicure”. Trust me, I know it sounds bizarre but just take a look at the quality of these shorts:

An additional 3 shorts can be found here, here and here.
