Pier Solar Back In Stock, Soundtrack Now Available For Pre-Order

Monday, January 16th, 2012

Pier Solar, the massive new Mega Drive RPG from Water Melon Co. is now back in stock. The version in stock is the reprint edition that features the old-school, black square artwork that Mega Drive fans will know from earlier releases.

However, the reprint edition does not come with the CD soundtrack that is optional to use with the game. The soundtrack used to be available as a downloadable image which you could burn yourself so that those with the reprint edition could experience the game the same way those who got the first pressing did.

Well now Water Melon Co. have made a 4 disc special edition of the soundtrack available for pre-order. The 4 disc edition contains the original soundtrack on 2 discs, as well as a disc of remixes and another disc which contains the soundtrack for use with the reprint edition.

The soundtrack is not expected to be released until the 1st April 2012 (this better not be an April Fools!) so there’s plenty of time to place an order. You can place an order at the official Water Melon Shop here: CLICK HERE

Jun Senoue Confirmed for TGS Performance, 3rd Generations OST?

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

Jun Senoue, famed composer of many a Sonic game, has confirmed he will be performing on the SEGA stage of the Tokyo Game Show on Sunday September 18th. Jun will be performing alone and is planning an interesting playlist.

“I need to think about the songs to play there and I know it will be a great opportunity to play some from Generations.”

In other news, Jun has also confirmed that the 2 Sonic Generations CDs we discovered artwork for are in fact Japanese pre-order items for anyone pre-ordering either the PS3/360 or 3DS versions.

“They are sort of giveaway CDs. I will work on the soundtrack CD of Sonic Generations later.”

That last comment seems to indicate that Jun is arranging a proper Generations soundtrack CD for a later release. More on this as we get it!

Sonic Colours Soundtrack Being Released on Western iTunes

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

Now here’s a welcome first for SEGA! The Sonic Colours soundtrack ‘Vivid Sound x Hybrid Colors’ is to be released on iTunes in North America and Europe! Game soundtracks are becoming more and more difficult to find on Western shores so the digital distribution of the Sonic Colours soundtrack is a welcome alternative.

Here’s the pricing for both North America and UK:

Individual tracks: $1.29 / £0.99
Per Disc: $9.99 / £7.99

That’s a massive saving on importing and you don’t have to risk getting a massive custom’s charge (I got stuck with an additional £20 on top of the original £40 order; ouch!).
