A Quick Update Regarding the Status of the Website

Friday, September 7th, 2012

Hello everyone, Sonic Yoda here. A friend of mine suggested I keep you all in the know as to why the site has been quiet for such a long period of time and I thought that was quite a good idea!

So on the 28th of July I moved home and even though I’ve been in the new place for over a month me and my flat-mate are still sorting the last few things out. The main one is obviously the internet.

With any luck we should be live soon but there’s some strange fault with my line (apparently) so even though I should’ve gone live on Tuesday (4/9/12) I’m still having endless calls with my provider to get things sorted.

We have some cool content for you when we’re back though so don’t think we’ve been slacking. I have a feature video that includes all my favourite games from this year’s SAGE to still upload and then we’ll be doing another collaborative video with The Community Spotlight.

Once again, apologies for the long period of dead-time but hopefully we should be live and kicking again soon!

Video Spotlight: A Look at the Pier Solar Soundtrack

Monday, June 25th, 2012

Pier Solar is a rather fantastic indie RPG that was released for the Mega Drive last year. As a companion piece to the game, Watermelon Games have released a 4 disc soundtrack boxset. We received our copy this morning so we thought we’d give you some insight as to what you get for your money:

Ever wanted to see what SEGADriven HQ’s Mega Drive collection looks like? Well the mystery is no more thanks to this video I put together:

I’m still not entirely sure I like this video, but if it interests some then I suppose that’s all I could ask for! Interesting note, there are actually 149 games in this collection as I forgot to include Pier Solar.

SEGADriven Awarded Most Underrated SEGA/Sonic Website 2011

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Premier Sonic site Sonic Wrecks and one of our faithful affiliates have awarded us ‘Most Underrated SEGA/Sonic Website 2011’ in their year end awards. They had this to say:

“It’s somewhat a testament to its author Lewis “Sonic Yoda” Clark that the site is still going. Now a TSSNET site, I’m a big fan of SEGA Driven’s review and reporting style as well as their deep passion for SEGA past and present. Oft overlooked, in fact it’s original guise as Sonic Yoda won this award in the 2007 SWAs.

Do yourself a favour some time and check the site out, especially the reviews section.”

I am incredibly humbled to have the site acknowledged in this way and would like to thank both Sonic Wrecks for the kind words and The Sonic Stadium for being such a brilliant host.
