SEGA have released an image on their official Facebook page that says “Like & Share if you want Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F for PS3 in the West!” Could this mean SEGA are going to finally release a Project Diva game for Western audiences or are they simply gauging interest? The arcade iteration of SEGA’s Japanese smash hit Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series is being location tested in a Round 1 arcade in Puente Hills, California. The 2 machines are available for public play until March 18th. Hopefully this means SEGA has realised there’s huge Western appeal for this series and we might finally get to see it being localised for Western audiences. The game is already available in PS Vita but the PS3 version will feature better graphics, 6 new songs, new modules and customisable items. The version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F being displayed at E3 is in fact completely in English. The title of the game has simply been changed to Hatsune Miku for this tech demo. There is still no word as to whether this means the game is coming to the west or if SEGA are attempting to gauge interest in the title. The PS Vita version launches on August 30th this year while the Playstation 3 version has an unconfirmed release date of ‘2013’. Check out the new trailer for the game below: Once again, these titles will probably not get a Western release due to licensing issues with the music, but thanks to the PS Vita and the PS3’s lack of region lockout they should be easy enough to import for those of you who are interested (and trust me, I’m very interested!). Follow on Twitter @kronkblats Hatsune Miku Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater Extend AnnouncedThursday, May 31st, 2012As with every Project Diva game released for PSP, a ‘Dreamy Theater’ version is released for PS3. These games use your save data from the PSP versions to allow you to play the songs in high definition with enhanced graphics on your PS3. SEGA of Japan have just announced that a Dreamy Theater Extend will be released on the Japanese Playstation Store. There is currently no announcement regarding the release date at this time. The game’s official website has screenshots and a tentative tracklist which you can view by clicking here. I think it would be safe to say that Dreamy Theater Extend won’t be making it to Western shores as the game requires Project DIVA Extend to play (which is also Japanese exclusive). Anyone who knows me personally will know that I’m a bit of a sucker for Vocaloid but up until this point I’ve had to satisfy myself with CDs as I don’t own a PSP to play the Project Diva games. Well Next Hatsune Miku Project Diva appears to be getting a release on PS Vita AND PS3 which means I can import it for PS3 and finally play a Project Diva game! Wooooo! Anyway, enough about my silly fanboy obsessions; check out the new trailer which shows off what the PS Vita version looks like: The game is being developed by the same team behind Project Diva Arcade.
