Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Screenshots Roll In, More Details Confirmed

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

We can finally see what Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will look like! And what a surprising turn of events this is; the game now uses a fully 3D engine instead of using pre-rendered graphics for the foreground tiles and items like the previous game. Check it out:

Eagle-eyed Sonic fans will be intrigued to see Metal Sonic riding the rocket that Tails flies from Sonic the Fighters; nostalgia!

Also confirmed for the game is 2 player offline and online co-op play with Tails. This isn’t your standard Sonic 2 type co-op play either; Sonic and Tails have unique combination skills and attacks that give them a greater advantage than they do alone.

Samurai Blood Show Released for iOS

Thursday, September 1st, 2011

SEGA have released a new iOS game. It’s called Samurai Blood Show and tower defence title with card-based elements of play.

Destructoid describes it in further detail: “The game blends card-based combat with tower-defense gameplay for some interesting results. Infantry cards possess their own strengths and weaknesses, and different offensive and defensive abilities. Moreover, different infantry types have varying movement options. You’ll be able to reposition your infantry during battle at the cost of gold. This not only adds a lot more flexibility to your strategies, but makes the game feel like a more fast-paced version of chess….Visually, the game is quite a looker. Using ancient Japanese art scrolls as inspiration, the look of the classic emaki paintings are accurately replicated and make the game look as if you are watching a painting come to life.”

The game is available now but is NOT available in English. This game is only in Japanese despite being released worldwide.

SEGA Announce Brick People For iOS

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

SEGA have just revealed a new iOS title called Brick People. The game originated as a Japan exclusive arcade game and has now been ported to iOS devices.

The game was originally played with a set of actual bricks that you placed in front of the video screen. The concept is still the same except you now use a set of virtual bricks that you manouvre with the touch-screen.

Full details from the press release:

•Tactile Gameplay: Build towers and bridges for the Brick People by pulling bricks from the stack and dropping them into place, using the iOS’ multi-touch interface
•Build with a Buddy: Compete head-to-head via Wi-Fi to out-build your friends, or compete on a single device in the iPad version
•See How You Stack Up: Build your Brick People reputation by going for high scores on the Game Center leaderboards, and tweet your tallest towers

A release date has not been revealed at this time.

The Sonic CD announcement trailer is live! However, SEGA have got a bit confused:

“Sonic CD marks an important chapter in Sonic’s history, bridging the gap between his oldest adventures and his new digital exploits like Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I,” said Sega West digital business VP Haruki Satomi.

Erm, no it isn’t Satomi.

“We’ve made sure the re-mastered edition has everything that Sonic fans want to see with all of the original colourful classic zones.”

The game has also been confirmed for XBLA, PSN, PC, iOS, Android and Windows 7 phones.

Check out the trailer here:

Also, check out this awesome new character art released to coincide with the announcement (thanks Gagaman).
