SEGA have showcased a new look at some in-game combat as well as the training stage for their New Virtua Fighter Project at EVO 2025.
This latest teaser pits Akira and Stella against each other in a futuristic training environment. The 2 combatents trade blows, dodges seem to activate slow motion effects, and there’s also noticeable damage displayed on the characters when you land a critical hit. There’s also a striking cinematic moment when Stella lands a finishing blow.

New Virtua Fighter Project is in development at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios. No release date or target platforms have been revealed at the time of writing, but we are promised more news at the Tokyo Game Show that starts September 25th 2025.
SEGA have announced a brand deal with Beyblade X which means that Beyblade decals will now appear in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
SEGA are really pushing to include a lot of properties they don’t own in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as Beyblade now joins Minecraft and Nickelodeon as properties that will show up in the game when it launches in September 2025. You can see Sonic driving a Beyblade car in the trailer below:
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on September 29th 2025 for Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC. The game is being developed by Sonic Team.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is finally arriving on modern platforms with the new subtitle of World Stage. This new version of the game will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 30th 2025, while the Switch 2 version is promised as “coming soon”. The PC will also receive the game as a free update to the version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. that is already available on the platform.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will feature online multiplayer with crossplay support between all platforms. The game will also support rollback netcode for smoother online play. The game also features a brand new single player mode and also makes Dural entirely playable instead of just being a boss character.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 30th 2025. The game will also release on Steam and Switch 2 “soon”.
SEGA have partnered with toy manufacturer Console Heroes to launch a line of toy Mega Drive cartridges that open up to reveal a diorama and figures based on a selection of Mega Drive games. There are currently 5 sets available to pre-order from Entertainment Earth and the entire toyline appears to be North American exclusive at the time of writing.
The 5 sets are themed around Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Super Street Fighter II, Altered Beast and a Supervillain Boss Bundle Playset that comes housed in a opening Mega Drive console playset; complete with cartridge storage tray for the cartridge playsets. The cartridge playsets are priced at $17.99 each, while the boss bundle is priced at $39.99. You can see some photos of each playset opened to show its diorama in the image gallery below:
If you’re based in North America and want to pre-order these Console Heroes playsets then you can place your orders at Entertainment Earth right now. The playsets are due to launch later in August 2025.
Ahead of the game’s August 29th 2025 release, SEGA have released a free demo for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance on PS4, PS5, Switch, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The demo features the entire first stage Oboro Village so you get a nice hearty taste of the full game prior to release. You can check out a trailer for the demo via the embed below:
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is being developed by Lizardcube and published by SEGA. Lizardcube previously worked on Streets of Rage 4 and the remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. The full game will release on August 29th 2025 for Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Both Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will receive Switch 2 ports. Both games will launch on the same day as seperate releases November 13th 2025.
Yakuza Kiwami is an expanded HD remake of the original Yakuza game. Yakuza Kiwami originally released back in 2016 for PS3 and PS4; with ports to PC, Xbox One and Switch coming after. Yakuza Kiwami 2 followed in 2017 for PS4, and later received ports to PC and Xbox One. Kiwami 2 is the second game to use Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Dragon Engine which debuted in Yakuza 6.

Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 will release as seperate games November 13th 2025. They are being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and will be published by SEGA. There is currently no word on whether these will be game key card releases like Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut.
Persona 3 Reload is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23rd 2025.
Originally released in February 2024, this HD remake of Persona 3 has basically been released for everything except Nintendo platforms until now. You can check out the announcement trailer via the embed below:
Persona 3 Reload is a HD remake of the 2006 JRPG Persona 3; originally developed and published by Atlus. Reload has been developed by P-Studio and will be published by SEGA and Atlus on October 23rd 2025. The game is already available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
