Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a remake of Yakuza 3 running in RGG Studio’s Dragon Engine. It comes with a brand new chapter called Dark Ties which allows you to play as Mine for the first time in the franchise’s history. SEGA have released a gameplay trailer for Yakuza Kiwami 3 that specifically showcases the in-game combat. The trailer lets you see Kiryu fighting in Kamurocho and using weapons in Okinawa. You can watch the gameplay trailer below:
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties releases February 12th 2026 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. The game is being developed by RGG Studio and is a remake of Yakuza 3 with a new chapter called Dark Ties that lets you play as Mine.
SEGA and RGG Studio have revealed that an enhanced remake of Yakuza 3 is coming in February 2026. Yakuza Kiwami 3 will include a complete Kiwami-style remake of Yakuza 3 developed in the Dragon Engine.
The game will also include a new campaign called Dark Ties which features Mine as the playable protagonist. You can check out the announcement trailer below:
Interestingly, the roles of Goh Hamazaki and Rikiya Shimabakuro have been recast for Yakuza Kiwami 3.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches on February 12th 2026 for Switch 2, PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Both Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 will receive Switch 2 ports. Both games will launch on the same day as seperate releases November 13th 2025.
Yakuza Kiwami is an expanded HD remake of the original Yakuza game. Yakuza Kiwami originally released back in 2016 for PS3 and PS4; with ports to PC, Xbox One and Switch coming after. Yakuza Kiwami 2 followed in 2017 for PS4, and later received ports to PC and Xbox One. Kiwami 2 is the second game to use Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Dragon Engine which debuted in Yakuza 6.

Yakuza Kiwami 1 & 2 for Nintendo Switch 2 will release as seperate games November 13th 2025. They are being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and will be published by SEGA. There is currently no word on whether these will be game key card releases like Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut.
Previously revealed back in December 2024, Project Century is a new game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio that plays like a Yakuza game set in the past.
It would appear the game is set in multiple timelines as the last trailer showcased a Kamurocho from 1915, but the latest trailer showcased at Summer Games Fest brings the action into 1943 and gives the game a proper title – Stranger Than Heaven. Stranger Than Heaven still has no release date or even any target platforms. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut releases on the 5th of June 2025 as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. It includes new cut scenes, new English voice acting, and a new online multiplayer mode.
A special Director’s Cut version of Yakuza 0 is being released for the Nintendo Switch 2 as a launch title.
This new version of Ryu Ga Gotoku’s Yakuza series prequel features all new English voice acting alongside the appropriate facial animation to accomodate it. Subtitles for English, French, Italian, German and Spanish text is also available. The game will also feature some entirely new cut-scenes to help flesh out the game’s story.
In addition to these new features, a brand new online co-operative multiplayer mode called Red Light Raid has also been added. You and up to 3 friends can battle together in various missions to accumulate the most money by fighting hordes of enemies.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th 2025. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are keeping themselves very busy because they’ve also revealed a brand new title that is being temporarily named Project Century. This new action game appears to be sent in the Kamurocho of 1915 and the reveal trailer shows a new character exploring the city and getting into some rather nasty scraps. A new trailer for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii has premiered as a part of the Xbox Partners Showcase, and with it comes the announcement that the game’s release date has been brought forward to February 21st 2025. Check out the new trailer via the embed below:
This latest trailer for Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii mainly focuses on naval combat and ship customisation, but it also shares some brand new information like the return of Taiga Saejima. We also get the name of Samoa Joe’s character who is called Raymond Law – a self-proclaimed Pirate King.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4 and PS5 on February 21st 2025. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios.
The next entry in the Yakuza franchise has been revealed! This time Goro Majima gets lead billing in a real-time action title as opposed to Like a Dragon and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth which focused on turn-based combat.
Majima finds himself washed up on the shores of an island off the coast of Hawaii with no memory of who he is. With a new found need to protect the island natives from pirates, Majima himself takes the high seas and turns to a life of piracy when he defeats the captain of a ship.
