4 years ago, BlazeHedgehog (infamous for his fan-game ‘Sonic: The Fated Hour’) was developing a 2D remake of Sonic the Hedgehog 06.
Why remake one of the worst Sonic games of all time? Blaze explains that he was disappointed by the game’s release as all the pre-release hype promised “a High-Def, Next-Generation return to the good parts of the original Sonic Adventure” which was obviously appealing to most Sonic fans at the time.
Unfortunately, all hope for the project was lost when Blaze encountered computer problems which meant he hasn’t been able to access the source material for 4 years.
Earlier this year Blaze finally managed to gain access to the source material and has to decided to polish up the game and release it as is (approximately 85% complete) as he doesn’t have the time to finish it completely.
Check out the below trailer to see what the final release includes:
I’d recommend anyone with an interest in puzzle games to try out Wind and Water. Think Hexic (the puzzle game included on all X-Box 360s) with a story that parodies all your favourite games from yester-year. There’s also a plethora of different SEGA cameos with some fantastic remixes of classic SEGA tunes.
So what are you waiting for? Give Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles a try; you won’t regret it!
NG.DEV.TEAM, the developer behind such great new Dreamcast games as Last Hope: Pink Bullets and Fast Striker have announced another new game called GunLord.
Apart from a teaser site, there isn’t much information on the game other than it promises to let the player “Jump. Shoot. Explore” and is being advertised as “A Jump N Shoot Action Game”.
Sonic 2 HD; the fan-recreation of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has released a brand new teaser trailer. The trailer shows some of the first footage of the fan-game and promises the release of a playable alpha version ‘soon’. Check it out:

Fangames are just spilling out at the moment! We’ve mentioned Sonic Rebirth on SEGADriven before because it featured heavily at SAGE 2009. The game is a complete remake of Sonic the Hedgehog for Mega Drive with elements and stages from the 8 bit version added as well. It’s a beautiful little project that features almost entirely new graphics that contain a lot of pastel colours.
Leon, the game’s developer has recently released a new build that corrects some of the issues with the last. These include:
* The addition of caterkillers in Marble Zone * New cutscenes * Bridge, Jungle and Sky Base zones are now a part of the main story * Bridge Act 3, Jungle Act 3 and Sky Base Act 2 added * Some minor changes to the menus and physics

Core, a user at the Sonic Stadium Message Board has released a Christmas NiGHTS themed fangame today. Now you can enjoy a rather substantial piece of NiGHTS fangaming on your PC. The game includes a variety of different gameplay modes such as Normal Dream, Christmas Dream, Chase Mission, Battle, Race and a very cool Sonic mode.
Seeing as we may never see a NiGHTS into Dreams or Christmas NiGHTS re-release, this is a welcome addition for anyone who is a fan of the purple, flying jester. Take a look at the gameplay trailer below:

Eggman Hates Furries is a manic Sonic fangame that essentially boils down to one epic boss-fight after another. Developed by Oddwarg, it’s a complete game that sees Sonic hitting ridiculous speeds whilst battling an almost endless army of different creations. It’s fantastic to watch and even more intense to play. Take a look at the trailer below to see what’s in store:
