Rumour: Sonic the Fighters, Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter 2 Coming to XBLA

Tuesday, October 9th, 2012

The USK release schedule page appears to have just leaked announcements for Sonic the Fighters, Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter 2 on X-Box Live Arcade.

All 3 games have received ratings on the site which could mean that HD remakes of these releases are planned for XBLA. There is currently no official word from SEGA but looking at their recent release habits with the likes of NiGHTS into dreams, Sonic Adventure 2 and Jet Set Radio all getting revived it could well become a reality.

More on this as we get it.

Guardian Heroes Coming to XBLA

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

Treasure’s classic side-scrolling brawler Guardian Heroes is coming to X-Box Live Arcade this autumn. SEGA are re-releasing the Saturn title with their love-it-or-hate-it smoothed graphics option seen often in their Mega Drive collections. New game modes and online co-op is also confirmed.

SEGA executive Haruki Satomi released this comment, “Ever since we began to make SEGA’s classic Dreamcast and the Mega Drive titles available for modern systems, the fan response has been overwhelming – and the demand for their favorite games has been pouring in. Players have been clamoring for this treasured favorite from the Saturn days, and we cannot wait to show them what we have got for them.”

Hopefully this re-release will pave the way for other SEGA Saturn games to come to XBLA and hopefully Playstation Network. Fingers crossed!
