Viking: Battle For Asgard Hitting Steam Next Week

SEGA’s Hardlight Studio has revealed that Viking: Battle for Asgard is being released on Steam next week.

Viking was originally released for X-Box 360 and PS3 back in 2008 and developed by The Creative Assembly. The game has been ported by Hardlight Studio which is a newly SEGA aquired studio based in Solihull, West Midlands UK.

Hardlight are also working on a new version of Sonic Jump for mobile devices.

This is What Project X Zone Looks Like

Project X Zone, the upcoming SEGA, Capcom and Namco Bandai joint RPG venture now has screenshots. Among the SEGA characters now confirmed are Ulala from Space Channel 5, Space Harrier from, well… Space Harrier and Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone (yes!). SEGA/Capcom/Namco Bandai Joint Project Revealed to be Project X Zone

The collaborative game that SEGA, Capcom and Namco Bandai have been working on for the 3DS is called Project X Zone and it will be a strategic RPG.

The characters in the game fight in pairs. A list of characters from each company has also been revealed by Weekly Famitsu:

Capcom
Ryu and Ken (Street Fighter), X and Zero (Mega Man), Demitri and Dante (Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry), Chris and Jill (Resident Evil).

SEGA
Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars), Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter), Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles), Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA).

Namco Bandai
Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars), Jin and Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken), Kos-Mos and T-elos (Xenosaga), Yurie and Estel (Tales of Vesperia), Kaito and Black Rose (.hack).

The project is being lead by Namco Bandai’s own Kensuke Tsukanaka. There is no news of a Western release at this time but the game is due for a Japanese release later this year.

SEGA Releases Free ‘Fallen Realms’ RPG For Android

SEGA has released a free to play RPG for Android devices called Fallen Realms. The game is available to download now with bonus quests exclusive for the Valentine’s period. Check out this list of features:

– Designed for RPG veterans looking for a fun & portable adventure for their Android, or for new players looking for an easy-to-learn adventure where they can build a character and meet people.
– The game is hosted on Papaya – join 32 million gamers across tons of free games and interact with other Fallen Realms adventurers on Papaya’s social network.
– Journey alone or add party members — including other Fallen Realms adventurers!

The game can be downloaded from this marketplace page or by simply searching for ‘Fallen Realms’ in the Android marketplace.
