Some new characters have been revealed for Project X Zone 2, the crossover strategy RPG from Bandai Namco, Capcom and SEGA.
New to the series is Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Aty from Summon Night 3 and Nana Kazuki and Ciel Alencon from God Eater 2.
The news that will excite SEGA fans is the inclusion of Axel Stone from Streets of Rage. This marks the character’s first new appearance in a video game since Streets of Rage 3 in 1994. Axel joins Gemini Sunrise and Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars as the currently confirmed SEGA characters for Project X Zone 2.
Legendary RPG Grandia II is set for a HD PC release via GungHo Online Entertainment America. The game was originally released on the Dreamcast back in 2000 and has been re-birthed thanks to an “enthusiastic” response to a consumer survey that the publisher carried out earlier this year.
No release date has been set but the game is due to launch on the Steam platform.
The Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth trilogy is coming to PC and while the first game is currently available, the second and third haven’t had their release dates set… until now. Well sort of; one of them has a solid date and the other has a projected date.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation is released on the 19th of May while Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3: V Generation is set for an Autumn release. These games are HD ports of the PS Vita games and now feature the option to choose Japanese or English voice overs.
If you are unfamiliar with the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise then you can expect an action RPG which features a fantasy world themed around video game consoles. The game takes its moniker from the cancelled SEGA Neptune console and various SEGA characters cameo in the series. The Re;Birth games take place in an alternate world based on the video games of the 1980s. While the games are not published by SEGA, they are made in collaboration with the company.
The latest trailer for Imageepoch’s Stella Glow has arrived and it features some of the most detailed gameplay footage of the game so far. The game plays similarly to the Nobunaga’s Ambition series which means the standard RPG combat is paired with strategy elements. Check out the 6 minute trailer below:
Stella Glow is released on the 4th of June on 3DS. The game is currently Japan exclusive but Atlus have confirmed a North American release for later this year. There is no word on a European version at this time.
Bandai Namco, Capcom and SEGA team up once again for another edition of Project X Zone! The sequel to the 3DS crossover RPG will be making its way west in the Autumn of this year. The game now features Resident Evil characters, Mega Man characters, Soulcalibur characters and Yakuza characters (our personal favourites). You can see Kiryu and Majima in action in the above screenshot. You can also check out the Western reveal trailer by clicking below:
Super Fighter Team are repressing 2 of their modern Mega Drive classics. Legend of Wukong and Star Odyssey will be re-pressed for another short run and both will be released in 2017.
These 2 RPGs were originally released in 2008 and 2011 and have become incredibly sought-after. Both titles were originally released in Taiwan and Japan. Super Fighter Team’s releases mark the first time the games were released in English.
SEGA Japan and Compile Heart have revealed Neptunia vs. SEGA Hard Girls; a new crossover game for the PS Vita.
If you are unfamiliar with the 2 titles, Hyperdimension Neptunia is an action RPG which features a fantasy world themed around video game consoles. The game takes its moniker from the cancelled SEGA Neptune console and various SEGA characters cameo in the series. SEGA Hard Girls is a short animated series based around SEGA’s various game franchises and features characters who are based on SEGA consoles so it’s a pretty good fit for the world of Hyperdimension Neptunia.
There is currently no screenshots or footage available for Neptunia vs. SEGA Hard Girls but we’re expecting it to be an action RPG in a similar style as Hyperdimension Neptunia. More details as we get them.
SEGA Japan have revealed a new strategy RPG called Stella Glow and it’s being developed by Imageepoch for the 3DS. Imageepoch have worked with SEGA on RPGs in the past as they were responsible for Sands of Destruction and 7th Dragon on the DS.

Having a man scream, “HEEEEEROOOOOOOOO BANKUUUU” will never get old for me. Below is the new trailer to Hero Bank 2 and it features a load of new gameplay footage as well as colourful anime lunacy, a lot of shouting and a child being flushed down a toilet for good measure. This game has it all:
Hero Bank 2 is a turn based fighting game and will launch on 3DS on the 27th of November. It is currently Japan exclusive.
The first screenshots and art of PS3 RPG Shining Resonance have appeared. The above gallery showcases some of the games weapons, dragons and multi-character battles.
The main character is a dragon called Irvan and the other party members can use musical instruments to aid him in battle. Don’t ask us how that works.
Shining Resonance will release as a Japan exclusive PS3 game this Winter.
