In a sad and disappointing decision by SEGASammy, it has come to light that The Creative Assembly’s upcoming looter-shooter Hyenas has been cancelled in what is being described as a “response to the lower profitability of the European region“.
Hyenas was first announced back in June 2022. The game had only been recently made playable on PC in a closed beta that started on August 31st 2023. The game was due to feature some interesting SEGA fan service, with a character that cosplayed as Sonic the Hedgehog and a hacking device that looked like a Mega Drive.
SEGADriven would like to send our condolences to The Creative Assembly as it must be extremely deflating to learn all your hard work has gone to waste. We hope the team have more success with future developments.
