Wednesday, July 17th, 2019

Original Streets of Rage composers Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima will return to the franchise to work on the soundtrack for Streets of Rage 4.

This time around they’re brought some friends. Contributions to the soundtrack will also be done by Hideki Naganuma of Jet Set Radio fame, Yoko Shimomura of Street Fighter II fame and Keiji Yamagishi of Ninja Gaiden fame.

A fascinating little behind the scenes video has also gone live on Dotemu’s YouTube channel where you can watch the composers themselves discuss their music. Check it out below:

Streets of Rage 4 is currently being developed by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games. No release dates or systems have been revealed at this time, but the game was demoed on a PC last month at Bitsummit.

10 Minutes of Off-Screen Streets of Rage 4 Gameplay from Bitsummit 2019 | Video Spotlight

Monday, June 3rd, 2019

Thanks to the lovely people at Low Score Boy Gameplay, we now have an extended 10 minute look at Streets of Rage 4 in action. The game is currently being demoed at Bitsummit 2019. Take a look below:

Some interesting things to note include the first look at Axel and Blaze’s super moves, and we also see a new gameplay mechanic in the form of bouncing enemies off walls. It appears that the game is running on PC as well, but this might not mean this is a confirmed platform as in-development games are often demoed on PC at events like these.

This is currently no word on a release date for Streets of Rage 4 or an official announcement for what platforms the game will release on.

Monday, August 27th, 2018

SEGA are teaming up with Lizardcube (developers of the recent Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap remake), Guard Crush Games and Dotemu to bring Streets of Rage 4 to reality. Check out the trailer below to see the first footage of this game’s lovely, hand-drawn animation in motion:

Well doesn’t that look fantastic? Sadly this trailer is all we have to go on at the moment. There is currently no release date or confirmation of what platforms Streets of Rage 4 will release on at this time. It will also be interesting to see if Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima return to score the soundtrack, but that is also unconfirmed at this time.

Nintendo Everything are currently speculating that a Nintendo Switch release is in the works as both Lizardcube and Dotemu are famous for their work on releases for this system.
