A free update to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has added 2 new playable characters to the game in the form of Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comics. Their addition to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds marks one of the very few times that characters not created by Sonic Team have appeared in an official Sonic the Hedgehog video game. Tangle and Whisper have previously appeared in the mobile games Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

In addition to both characters, 2 new songs ‘Character Select’ and ‘Result’ have also been added to the in-game jukebox.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is out now on PS4, PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A physical Switch 2 release will drop on March 26th 2026.
