A new homebrew port of The Ultimate Doom that includes episode 4, as well as a complete port of Doom II and select maps from TNT Evilution have been compiled together as Doom CD32X Fusion and programmed by the talented duo of Vic and ChillyWilly from the Doom World forums. The pair were previously responsible for Doom 32X Ressurection.
This new port makes use of the Mega Drive, Mega-CD and 32X to offer the best playing version of Doom available for the system and can run on real hardware as well as the Ares emulator. The Mega-CD also gives the game PCM audio for enhanced music.
Detailed instructions on how to compile a working copy of the game for Mega Drive, Mega-CD and 32X owners can be found on the game’s forum entry at Doom World. You also need to source some files from a real copy of Doom 1&2 in order to compile the necessary ROM file.
The Doom World entry on Doom CD32X Fusion also details every single addition and feature this project has over the previously released Doom 32X Resurrection homebrew project. Doom 32X Resurrection was made to enhance the 32X port of Doom with a large variety of improvements and is also available to download here.
