SEGA have revealed they are publishing a spiritual sequel to Project Cars by new developer Straight4 Studios. Straight4 were founded in 2023 and feature Slightly Mad’s Ian Bell as CEO. The company re-hired a lot of Slightly Mad staff when Bandai Namco announced the discontinuation of the Project Cars series.
Project Motor Racing was originally going to be published by Giants Software of Farming Simulator fame, but they will now be co-publishing with SEGA. This arrangement appears to only affect Japan and Asian territories, with Giants Software handling publishing for Western territories.
The game is a simulation racer with a specific focus on the 24 Hours of Le Mans sports car race. The game is promising upwards of 70 licensed cars across 10 car classes. You can check out the reveal trailer below:
Project Motor Racing launches on November 25th 2025 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
