SEGA Casually Drop 3 Hour Live Action Adaptation of the Original Yakuza on YouTube | Video Spotlight

A 3 episode live action adaptation of the original Yakuza game has randomly appeared on SEGA’s YouTube channel. Titled ‘Yakuza: Powered by Nihon Touitsu’, this 3 episode live action series is produced in the Nihon Touitsu house style.

Nihon Touitsu started in 2013 and they make low budget direct-to-video shows and movies in a more mature style. Their material is often centered around Yakuza culture which is why the team have been chosen to adapt the original Yakuza. The entire series was shot incredibly quickly – over just 10 days. This is an entirely different show to the Amazon produced Like a Dragon: Yakuza series that debuted in 2024.
