More Xbox 360 Games Including Daytona USA Revealed To Be De-Listed on February 7th 2023

Tuesday, January 31st, 2023

Microsoft have revealed a fresh batch of Xbox 360 games will start to be de-listed from their online marketplace starting February 7th 2023.

3 SEGA games are unfortunately amongst the list and these include Sega Vintage Collection: Alex Kidd & Co., Jet Set Radio and Daytona USA. This is once again a hugely unfortunate side effect of the move to digital-only game releases just like gali satta, and it’s a massive loss that these titles are not being preserved correctly for future generations. Children can learn a lot about other perspectives and cultures through games because they can immerse themselves in virtual worlds and sometimes connect with people from other countries.

Thankfully any game purchased from the Microsoft marketplace before a de-listing is forever redeemable if you ever want to re-download it, so if any of these titles are a part of your wish-lists then now is the time to buy them before you no longer have the option.

See below for the full list of Xbox 360 titles being de-listed on February 7th 2023:

– Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
– Assassin’s Creed III
– Assassin’s Creed IV
– Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
– Blood of the Werewolf
– Blue Dragon
– Breakdown
– Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
– Call of Duty: Ghosts
– Castle Crashers
– Cloning Clyde
– Counter-Strike: GO
– Dark Souls
– Darksiders II
– DAYTONA USA
– Defense Grid
– Eets: Chowdown
– Far Cry 2
– Final Fight: Double Impact
– Iron Brigade
– Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
– Jet Set Radio
– Left 4 Dead
– Left 4 Dead 2

Review: Captain America: Super Soldier for Xbox 360

To say SEGA’s time with the Marvel license was a bit underwhelming would be a bit of an understatement. Every title SEGA published with a Marvel property attached to it was either rushed, buggy or entirely misjudged. Of the five games (and their multiple ports) produced under SEGA, The Incredible Hulk is the only one that you could say was even remotely worth a look as the open world chaos that it brought certainly seemed to showcase that developer Edge of Reality understood what makes Hulk a great character and how they could transfer that to a video game.

Review: The Golden Compass on Xbox 360

There’s something morbidly fascinating about SEGA’s late 2000s movie tie-in games. There’s so many of them and they’re all outsourced to little studios who were probably given an extremely tight deadline to work towards and the results are telling. Why on Earth SEGA commissioned a game based on 2007’s underperforming The Golden Compass (currently rocking a 43% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an opening weekend described by New Line Cinema as “a little disappointing”) is a mystery to me, but I imagine it’s probably down to being a family orientated movie with an insane amount of fantasy gimmicks that can be utilised for a video game.

Video Spotlight: First Look at Sonic in Lego Dimensions

Saturday, July 23rd, 2016

legodimensions

We finally have our first look at how Sonic plays in Lego Dimensions! Developed by Traveller’s Tales, the studio behind Sonic R, Sonic 3D and countless Lego titles, Sonic’s level pack for Lego Dimensions includes Sonic himself and 2 vehicles to pilot; his car from All-Stars Racing and the Tornado of Sonic 2 fame. Sonic appears to have his modern 3D Sonic move-set complete with homing attack, but with additional combat mechanics. He can also pilot all manor of vehicles that already exist in Lego Dimesnions. Watch the trailer below to see Sonic crossover into other franchises you would never imagine seeing him in:

Sonic’s level pack for Lego Dimensions launches in Autumn this year and will be available for all versions of the game.

Video Spotlight: Sonic the Hedgehog to Appear in Lego Dimensions

Thursday, June 9th, 2016

legodimensions

Sonic the Hedgehog will be making his way into Lego Dimensions. A new trailer that confirms additions for the second year of the game’s existence has revealed that Adventure Time, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, E.T. and most importantly, Sonic the Hedgehog himself will be playable in the game. This obviously means a Lego mini-fig of Sonic is also in the works. Check out Sonic’s reveal in the below trailer:

There are no details as to what Sonic’s appearance in Lego Dimensions fully entails. We don’t know whether Sonic’s addition will come as a part of a story pack, level pack, team pack or fun pack and we don’t know what additional characters from the Sonic franchise will also be appearing. The above artwork does hint that Sonic’s vehicle might be the Tornado if that little bi-plane next to Voldemort is anything to go by. We’ll update this story with more details as we get them.

Sumo Digital Release Concept Art for Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

gillius

Sumo Digital have put together a gallery of unused concepts for the original Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing.

As you can see above, Gillius was due to appear in the first game riding the Chicken Leg creature from the first Golden Axe. Sonic is also seen running around without a vehicle and Tails can also be seen a biplane similar to the original red Tornado design.

Video Spotlight: Shay Deconstructs the Sonic Franchise

Saturday, January 24th, 2015

shaysays

I’d like to draw your attention to the latest episode of Shay Says. If you’re unfamiliar with the series then it’s a documentary-style video games show that deconstructs certain games of gaming franchises in a similar way to Egoraptor’s Sequelitis.

For the latest episode, Shay is taking a detailed look at the gameplay mechanics of the Sonic franchise (and when I say detailed, I mean detailed). 2 more episodes will follow that look at other aspects of the franchise.

While I wouldn’t normally recommend watching an almost feature length video about a games franchise, Shay has some incredibly interesting things to say about what works and what doesn’t regarding Sonic gameplay mechanics. He’s also one of the few people I’ve seen actively suggest alternative mechanics that might just improve the experience.

If you have the time then please take a look at the below video because it’s an extremely well made and unbiased look at what makes the Sonic franchise work so well and what doesn’t.

Video Spotlight: Meet the Cast of Alien Isolation

Friday, May 9th, 2014

The Creative Assembly are going through pain-staking efforts to bring the cast of Alien Isolation to life and instead of creating virtual characters and simply hiring voice actors to voice them, they have employed a real cast of actors whose likenesses are being scanned into the game and their acting is also being motion captured. You can see a glimpse of these efforts in a new behind-the-scenes video available below:

Strange observation: all the in game characters seem to be very sweaty and I’m not really sure why.

Alien Isolation comes out on the 7th of October 2014 for PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
