We all knew it was happening but SEGA finally confirmed the rumours that Sonic Adventure 2 is being re-released on X-Box Live Arcade and Playstation Network this Autumn. Check out the handheld footage of the announcement at Sonic Boom below:
Gotta love SEGA’s sense of humour! It’s also great seeing how many people actually still love this game
So another Summer of Sonic comes to a close. The annual Sonic convention created by fans and run by fans was hit with a major stroke of bad luck when the original venue suffered from a power-cut which led to an electrical fire. Luckily, an alternative venue was acquired just in the nick of time and the convention was moved from the Hove Centre to the Brighton Centre in just 3 hours.
Despite the set-back, this year’s Summer of Sonic turned into one of the best and everyone who staffed it did an amazing job. Hopefully, all our attendees had a fantastic time!
Here’s some footage we managed to shoot while we weren’t busy elsewhere; enjoy!
It’s Summer of Sonic week! In the first of 3 interviews, Titanscreed gets some of the volunteers and minds behind Summer of Sonic (including us!) to discuss the history of the event and some of their favourite moments from past events. Click below to listen in:
The Summer of Sonic convention on July 7th will be the first place to receive a playable version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed. The new racing game from Sumo Digital is the sequel to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing which previously released on PS3, X-Box 360, Nintendo DS and iOS.
Steve Lycett, executive producer from Sumo Digital will also be in attendance to meet fans and to introduce attendees to the game.
Also confirmed is that the game and Steve Lycett will also make an appearance at the Sonic Boom convention on July 13th at the House of Blues in San Diego, so American fans will also get an opportunity to play the game well ahead of its’ release date.
The official website of the Summer of Sonic fan convention is now live! There’s not a lot more information other than what we already knew, but it’s certainly looking snazzy!
The 5th annual Summer of Sonic convention takes place on the 7th of July 2012 in the ‘London area’. Specific details about the venue are said to be coming ‘very soon’. Get pumped!
Big news from the SEGA Blogs today as both Summer of Sonic and Sonic Boom are confirmed to return this summer.
Summer of Sonic will be a collaborative Sonic convention between SEGA and fans (as per usual) and will happen in the “London area” (UK) on Saturday the 7th of July. The venue has not been confirmed at this time and the official website www.summerofsonic.com will go live on Monday the 6th of February.
Sonic Boom has also been confirmed in San Diego (US) during the week of the San Diego Comic Con which runs from the 12th to the 15th of July. Once again, the venue has not been announced yet so there’s still more news to come regarding both events.
EDIT
Reader ‘mtwinny’ has kindly notified us that Sonic Boom is being held at the San Diego House of Blues. I’m glad someone reads these things! Thanks man!
