There’s a Sonic Forces x Hooters Collaboration Happening in Japan

Saturday, September 23rd, 2017

Cross-promotional advertising campaigns and Sonic the Hedgehog are not exactly the weirdest occurance in the world. We’ve had Sonic branded Happy Meal toys, Burger King toys, toothpaste, Williams F1 cars and Life Savers hard candies so SEGA have certainly proven they like to get the Blue Blur’s face onto anything. However, you’d like to have thought that SEGA’s family friendly mascot adheres to a certain set of standards. Surely we wouldn’t see Sonic’s face on any adult-orientated products? Oh boy.

SEGA Japan have revealed a cross-promotional advertising campaigns with 3 branches of Hooters restaurants in Tokyo. If you’re not familiar with Hooters then it’s basically an American-style restaurant famous for hot wings and employing sexy waitresses with low-cut tops. The collaboration will extend to the Shibuya West, Ginza and Akasaka branches of the restaurant but it’s not exactly clear what products will actually come out of this collaboration at the moment. More is due to be revealed in the coming days and quite frankly, I’m worried.
