Border Break Release Date Set of August 2nd 2018 in Japan

The PS4 home console port of SEGA’s previously arcade exclusive title Border Break has finally been set for August 2nd 2018 in Japan.

The game will be available as a free-to-play digital release that supports micro-transactions, but a boxed copy and a paid digital version will include extra bonuses. These bonuses basically amount to various in game items like an exclusive mech (or “border”) to use, additional parts for the mech (including customisable skins) and digital currency to be used for unlocking items, weapons and mechs in the in-game shop.

Border Break is currently a Japan exclusive PS4 title set to release on August 2nd 2018.

Border Break Finally Getting a PS4 Port in 2018

Almost 9 years after its initial release in arcades, AM2’s mech action game, Border Break is finally getting a home console port for the PS4.

Border Break first released for SEGA’s RingEdge arcade board in 2009 and despite receiving many reiterations, has stayed arcade exclusive until now. While there is no firm release date at the moment, SEGA Japan are promising a release at some point in 2018. There is currently no word on a wider release for US and European markets.

Border Break is a Japan exclusive, third-person, mecha fighting game that is hugely popular in its’ native country. Machines are linked together for LAN multiplayer which can result in matches like the one below which includes a massive 20 players duking it out. Watch the chaos ensue here:
