There’s a Sonic Forces x Hooters Collaboration Happening in Japan

Saturday, September 23rd, 2017

Cross-promotional advertising campaigns and Sonic the Hedgehog are not exactly the weirdest occurance in the world. We’ve had Sonic branded Happy Meal toys, Burger King toys, toothpaste, Williams F1 cars and Life Savers hard candies so SEGA have certainly proven they like to get the Blue Blur’s face onto anything. However, you’d like to have thought that SEGA’s family friendly mascot adheres to a certain set of standards. Surely we wouldn’t see Sonic’s face on any adult-orientated products? Oh boy. Before continuing, let me introduce you to CB an online casino that offers a wide variety of online casino games.

SEGA Japan have revealed a cross-promotional advertising campaigns with 3 branches of Hooters restaurants in Tokyo. If you’re not familiar with Hooters then it’s basically an American-style restaurant famous for hot wings and employing sexy waitresses with low-cut tops. The collaboration will extend to the Shibuya West, Ginza and Akasaka branches of the restaurant but it’s not exactly clear what products will actually come out of this collaboration at the moment. More is due to be revealed in the coming days and quite frankly, I’m worried.

Video Spotlight: Japanese Advert for Yakuza 1&2 HD

Friday, August 23rd, 2013

Yakuza 1&2 HD (or Ryu Ga Gotoku 1&2 HD if you want to use the Japanese title) was released for Wii-U this week. By the looks of things it hasn’t been too successful but that hasn’t stopped SEGA Japan from marketing it. Check out the below television advert for the game below:

A loose translation of the advert can be found below:

Husband: “Come at me!”
Haruka: “I want to watch anime.”
Wife: “Well, I’m heading out shopping.”
Haruka: “Okay!”
Wife: “By the way, don’t just play games. Please look after Haruka.”
Husband: “Ah, don’t worry, don’t worry.”
Wife: “See you.”
Haruka: “Have a nice trip!”
Husband: “Jun~ it’s been such a long time! Ahh, Jun~ You’re the best, of course~ Beautiful~”
Text: “Heehee… Come on, I told you not to say such embarrassing things”
Husband: “Oh, it’s not like that!”
Husband: “Since my fussy wife’s now gone, I finally got to come see you!”
Husband: “Today, let’s toast with some warm sake!”
Wife: “May I have a glass of sake as well?”
Husband: “Of course, cheer–”
Wife: “… I forgot my purse.”

Get a Bonus ‘Adult Map’ When You Pre-Order Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz in Japan

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

In what is possibly the most bizarre in-game bonus we’ve ever seen, SEGA has revealed an ‘adult map’ for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz on PS Vita.

The map is based around Yuki Kawamura; a Japanese glamour model which obviously means you can use her breasts as ramps. Yes, you read that right. See below for the hard evidence (no pun intended):

This map is only available to those who pre-order the first print run of the game in Japan and will unlikely be making an appearance on Western shores.

Here’s an additional trailer that also features Yuki Kawamura promoting the game:

UPDATE!

Additional advert featuring more of Yuki Kawamura sourced from Sonic Wrecks! This might be the greatest advertising campaign of all time:
