Glitch Results in Project Mirai DX Demo Being Playable Once for EU Players

Wednesday, August 19th, 2015

projectmiraidxlogo

A demo for Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX has gone live on the North American and European 3DS eShops but a publishing glitch has resulted in a strict one use limit for European players. This probably won’t get fixed before the game’s full release.

The North American version suffers no problem with the standard 30 use limit being available. I’m still not sure why the 3DS eShop restricts the amount of uses a player can have with a demo anyway, but at least the North American audience can have a little longer with the demo before they decide to buy the full game.

Remember being able to keep demos? Good times. Anyway Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX launches on the 8th of September.

New Ring Keep Mode Revealed for 3D Sonic 2

Wednesday, July 15th, 2015

sonic2remastered

A new mode called Ring Keep has been revealed for the 3DS port of Sonic 2.

3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will now feature a mode that allows you to start a stage with 10 rings but every time you take damage the amount of rings you lose are halved. This also means the amount of rings you’re allowed to scrape back after a hit is greatly reduced. It’s an interesting addition that should make for some challenging gameplay for seasoned players.

Also announced is 2 player co-op and versus modes will be available to play through wireless connectivity but both players will need their own copy of 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The game will have the standard M2 features of quick saves and the option to play the Japanese or international version of the game.

7th Dragon III: code:VFD launches in Japan on the 15th of October exclusively for 3DS. There is no word on a Western release and it’ll be unlikely that we get one seeing as the previous games have all been Japan exclusive.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Revealed

Tuesday, June 9th, 2015

sonicboomfire

SEGA have revealed a new Sonic Boom game to be released later this year exclusively on 3DS. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is a sequel to Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal and developed once again by Sanzaru Games. You can view the announcement trailer below:

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal were the worst selling Sonic games in the history of the franchise. I can only assume the reason for this follow-up is because SEGA has invested a lot in the cartoon and all the merchandising off-shoots that have followed. In all honesty I’m glad we’re getting a sequel to Shattered Crystal as it was the most playable of the two original Sonic Boom games. I would’ve preferred Streets of Rage 4 though.
