Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics)

The Archie Comics-produced Sonic the Hedgehog comic has the distinguised honour of being the longest running comic series based on a video game. It began publication in November 1992 and ceased publication in December 2016. The comic owes much of its lore to the SatAM Sonic cartoon and features many characters and locations from the show. Following a lawsuit by former writer Ken Penders in 2013, the comic was rebooted without Penders’ original characters and became closer in tone and feel to the video games.
