Video Spotlight: Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F Trailer

Thursday, May 31st, 2012

The new Project DIVA game for PS Vita and Playstation 3 now has an official title, namely ‘Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F’.

The PS Vita version launches on August 30th this year while the Playstation 3 version has an unconfirmed release date of ‘2013’.

Check out the new trailer for the game below:

Once again, these titles will probably not get a Western release due to licensing issues with the music, but thanks to the PS Vita and the PS3’s lack of region lockout they should be easy enough to import for those of you who are interested (and trust me, I’m very interested!).

Hatsune Miku Project DIVA: Dreamy Theater Extend Announced

Thursday, May 31st, 2012

As with every Project Diva game released for PSP, a ‘Dreamy Theater’ version is released for PS3. These games use your save data from the PSP versions to allow you to play the songs in high definition with enhanced graphics on your PS3.

SEGA of Japan have just announced that a Dreamy Theater Extend will be released on the Japanese Playstation Store. There is currently no announcement regarding the release date at this time.

The game’s official website has screenshots and a tentative tracklist which you can view by clicking here.

I think it would be safe to say that Dreamy Theater Extend won’t be making it to Western shores as the game requires Project DIVA Extend to play (which is also Japanese exclusive). Sad times for Western Project DIVA fans 🙁

Daytona USA DLC Coming to Ridge Racer on PS Vita

Thursday, May 31st, 2012

Now here’s some SEGA-related news I didn’t expect to see! The famous Hornet vehicle from Daytona USA and a special Daytona USA remix will be coming to Ridge Racer of Playstation Vita via DLC.

The remix is worth a special mention as the ‘RIDGE RACER USA MIX’ is the result of a collaboration between Namco composer Hiroshi Okubo and SEGA’s Takenobu Mitsuyoshi.

There’s also video of the Hornet in action on one of the Ridge Racer tracks available at Famitsu’s website. Click here to be taken straight to the page in question.

There is currently no word on whether or not this DLC will be making it to the West but the Japanese are getting this on June 6th; ¥150 for the remix and ¥250 for the Hornet.

Make it happen SEGA West!

Jet Set Radio Coming to Playstation Vita

Tuesday, May 29th, 2012

The HD port of Jet Set Radio originally set for release this summer on XBLA, PSN and Steam is now coming to Playstation Vita.

The Vita version will include touchscreen controls and camera integration that is exclusive to this port. We assume this will be used for the tagging in the game and creating your own tags but this hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

The game will also be playable at this year’s E3 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 5th to the 7th. There is currently no word in regards to when this version of Jet Set Radio will release or if it will come out on the same day as the XBLA/PSN/Steam releases.

Anarchy Reigns’ Western Release is Uncertain

Friday, May 25th, 2012

Anarchy Reigns; the new multiplayer brawler from Platinum Games was due for release in Europe on the 6th of July and in the US on the 3rd of July. However, Platinum Games have revealed that the Western release has changed to ‘to be confirmed’.

A note on the Platinum Games website says, “We break the bad news about Anarchy Reigns US/EU release date – Sega has decided to change the date to TBC. While our work on the game is finished, localised, and ready to go, as publisher, Sega gets to make the final decision as to when it is released. The Japanese release date, however, remains unchanged for 5th July 2012.”

Fingers crossed that SEGA release a new Western release date soon and that the game’s Western release has not been shelved. Platinum Games have delivered some stunning entertainment this generation and it would be a massive shame if Anarchy Reigns becomes Japan exclusive.
